Adult Programs

Mooredale has more than just programs for children and youth.  We have programs for adults too!  

Rebecca Bell Programs:

9:30 Workout – Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (9:30 – 10:30am)
This class is practically an institution at Mooredale. Running on Monday, Wednesday and Friday’s, the 9:30 Workout is an effective and efficient one hour full body workout, combining cardiovascular and strength training. Led by Rebecca Bell, an experience fitness instructor, who offers effective personalized attention that draws on her depth of knowledge and passion for body mechanics. The class includes 30 minutes dedicated to CARDIO FITNESS and 30 minutes of focused STRENGTH and FLEXIBILITY training.

Pilates on a Roller – Thursdays 9:30 – 10:30am
Pilates exercises are brilliant at strengthening the muscles of the torso commonly referred to as you CORE. But in addition to making your “six-pack” strong, you are also training every other part of your body through the development of greater and greater awareness of you full movement potential. IN THIS CLASS, the addition of small equipment, such as foam rollers and weighted body balls to the Pilates format, adds dimensions of balance and strength training that enhance your results. This class promises to enhance all of your other workouts!!!

X-Body EMS Workout – Private sessions (40 min)
Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) is the elicitation of muscle contraction using electrical impulses. You’ll be shocked by the results! The electrical impulses are generated by a device and delivered through electrodes on the skin directly above the muscles. The biggest advantage of EMS training is that full-body workout can take as little as 25 minutes, allowing you to maximize your day. Rebecca Bell will be offering one-on-one training on Tuesday mornings with other potential openings during the week based on instructor and space availability. Contact the office to inquire about a trial session.

Adult Programs with James Greer:

Adult Karate – Mondays 7:00-8:00pm
After many years of teaching karate to the children of Mooredale members, instructor James Greer from the Cold Mountain School has introduced Karate to any interested adults at Mooredale. Trained as a Second degree black belt, James designs and teaches karate programs that will be suitable for any fitness and skill level. Participants will progress through traditional Okinawan Karate and self-defense.

Ashtanga Yoga with a Twist – Tuesday 7 – 8:15pm
Introducing a yoga with a twist. James Greer, a certified yoga instructor, will be teaching an exploratory yoga program for beginners and those who would like to try other aspects of yoga. This 7 week course is the first of two parts where students will be introduced to traditional Ashtanga primary poses, restoration, yin yoga, pranayama and doweling.
The aim is to help students develop and advance their own practices as the become less stresses, healthy and strong. Participants can bring their own yoga mat or one will be provided.


Seniors Group Singing Lesson and Sing-Along – Friday 1:00 – 2:30pm
Come try a group singing class focusing on wellness, camaraderie, celebrating what is available to each of us in the present moment, and enjoying music to the fullest. During each 90 minute class, we will warm up, explore the technical subject of the day and then spend time singing popular music selections, always with a sensitivity to each individual’s needs and crating a supportive environment. Rhonwen Derbez has been a perform for most of her life, and began teaching singing and drama over 20 years ago at the Richmond Academy of Performing Arts in B.C.
